My name is Gab Moan and I am a Textile Artist. I focus heavily on exploring my queer/ neurodivergent identity through textiles and fashion.

I have experience in many collaborative creative fields, such as theatre, film, dance and music. I thrive when bouncing off others. 

 

I love exploring conceptual knits and ambitious collaborative projects. I work mostly with fibre arts, working different ways of manipulating materials to create textured and sculptural forms.

A continuous theme throughout all my work is transformation and recontextualisation. I like to experiment with unconventional combinations of techniques. 

I find significance in using pre-used or second hand materials, as they carry depth and stories with them and align with my artistic themes of transformation and transition.
